What city is renowned around the world as being the most romantic? It’s got to be Paris. The French are famed for their passion, romance, and having mistresses. We’ll maybe forget about that last one, but you get the point. The Gallic city is full of charm. Who could resist walking hand in hand by the River Seine, or eating a croissant in a street cafe? If you fancy spicing things up, take your partner to see the Cancan girls in the Moulin Rouge. I that doesn’t get his pulse racing, it’s difficult to know what will! Thousands of Frenchmen can’t be wrong! Do take the time to explore the restaurants - the eateries in gay Paris are amongst some of the finest in the world.

Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world- and full of romance. It is also full of tourists, so you need to make sure you don’t get ripped off. It doesn’t pay to appear like a tightwad in front of your lover, so work out a generous budget before hand. But when you glide down the water in a Gondola with the one you love, it will all be worth it. Get up early and see the magnificent view of St Mark’s square before it fills up with the day's visitors. It’s a spectacular and rarely seen sight. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking; it’s a feast for their eyes and soul.

Ireland has it all. Dramatic landscapes, tranquil lakes, romantic walks. If you want to spend some time in the rolling countryside and get away from it all, the Emerald Isle has so much to offer. There are pretty little cottages in Ireland you can rent and spend some time just the two of you. What could be more perfect? If you fancy something more lively, head into Dublin for a night out. Entrenched in tradition but a thoroughly modern city, Dubliners will give you the very warmest of welcomes. Enjoy the craic and try a traditional Irish Whiskey. That’s bound to give you a rosy glow!

What better way to show your eternal love by taking your sweetheart to the Eternal City? The Trevi Fountain is a traditional if somewhat cliched hotspot for lovers. so what if it’s been done a million times before - there’s a reason for that. It really is terribly romantic. And who doesn’t love that feeling of being head over heels? Just don’t do it down the Spanish Steps! Share a gelato in the sunshine, and make a wish when you throw your coin in the fountain. Visit the Vatican for incredible history and beautiful ornate palaces.
