Anti-ageing tips for in your twenties

This might be hard to hear, but contrary to popular belief, our skin can begin to age at as early as 20. When we think of aging, we don’t tend to think of our twenties, we presume that our mid-thirties to early forties are for worrying about wrinkles. However, we should do, as the sooner, we start an anti-aging skin routine, the better.

Of course, in your twenties, you won’t develop deep wrinkles, just fine lines. However, if you want to slow the aging process and prevent the onset of deeper wrinkles, you need to take excellent care of your skin. Want to keep the wrinkles at bay for as long as possible? Here’s what you need to do:

Never sleep in your makeup

At some point or another, we’ve all slept in our makeup and been surprised when the next day our skin appears perfectly healthy. However, that doesn’t mean that you should make a habit of it as the damage will appear later in life. Every time you sleep with your makeup on, the free radicals in the dirt and oil will cause damage to your skin, making it more prone to aging.

To prevent early aging, each night before bed make sure to remove your makeup. It’s best to use cleanser and toner for this, not cleansing wipes, as these don’t tend to remove all the dirt and oil. However, for an emergency or while traveling, makeup wipes are better than nothing.

Make moisturiser your best friend

When it comes to preventing wrinkles, moisturiser is the most important product you can use. You see, dehydrated skin becomes dry and brittle and more prone to the signs of aging. Moisturiser not only keeps the skin well hydrated, but it also fills in fine lines and plumps the skin, making it look younger. So that you’ve always good moisturiser to hand, carry a mini tube around in your purse. That way, whenever your skin feels dry, you’re covered.

While it’s important to use a high-quality face cream, all moisturisers do something. Even those little samples you get in hotel rooms will help to keep your skin hydrated. So if you’re ever stuck, any old moisturiser will do the job. However, anti-aging creams, like this uv lotion cream protection moisturiser, are best. When it comes to choosing a good face cream, it’s best to spend a little more for a higher-quality product, as the results will be better.

Exfoliate two to three times a week

Don’t make the mistake of skipping exfoliating, as it’s essential for healthy skin. If you want to keep your face free of wrinkles for as long as possible, it’s crucial that you exfoliate at least two to three times a week. Exfoliating not only smoothes the skin and reduces your chances of developing spots, but it also helps skin cell rejuvenation.

When selecting an exfoliating scrub, remember to opt for a brand that’s as natural as possible. As the chemicals in certain products can make your skin more prone to aging.

You may not think that in your twenties, you need to worry about aging, but your skin can start to age at as young as 24. So it’s essential that you take your skin care seriously and do everything that you can to prevent aging.
