Bourjois Velvet Rouge | Review

On a recent trip to Superdrug I was on a hunt  for a new cream bronzer. Whilst I was there they had a buy one get one half price offer on Bourjois makeup so I thought I would jump at this offer and purchased four items. The first product I want to review is the velvet rouge.

Bourjois Velvet Rouge | Review

Info from the company

' Matte finish and incredibly light.

Rouge Edition Velvet by Bourjois is the new era of lipsticks. An amazing, irresistible formula.

Its soft, melting texture glides on to the lips and turns into a matt, velvety and incredibly light colour. Lips are left smooth and soft as velvet.
Enriched with evanescent oils, it’s incredibly sensuous formula provides a soft, second-skin feel, without drying or fading lips.'

Packaging

I love the packaging of this product. It looks super slick and comes with a doe foot applicator. I like the see through packaging so you can see the product and I also like how the lid matches the colour of the product perfectly.

Review

I only have one shade of this lip product and that is nud-ist. Firstly I love the formula of this, it glides on the lips perfectly, isn't tacky at all and it has amazing staying power. After application I drank a cup of coffee and ate my lunch, afterwards this still looked good and didn't need any touch ups. Only after about 6 hours of wear would I feel the need to re-apply this product. The bourjois velvet also felt incredibly smooth (didn't cling to any flaky areas) and it didn't cause my lips to dry out at all. The only negative I have about this is the shades that are available. They are all of the same colour family and this is the most nude/natural colour they have.

I am definitely going to look in-store again and see if there is any more colours I like as they really do feel amazing to wear, incredibly easy to apply and they last for hours.
Where to purchase
£8.99 rrp.

Have you tried Bourjois velvet? What do you think?

  1. That looks really good! Might give it a try as I need to improve my lip gloss/lipstick collection and find it hard to find ones which last x

  2. I received one of these in a box shop and was impressed. Wish I could access Bourjois on a more regular basis!
